We thought we were the class of ’45 but we soon found out we would be the Class of ’49 if we studied hard for a few years. We held a class meeting and elected officers and chose sponsors to guide us through the year. On the morning of September 21st, Freshman initiation was held preceding the football game with Yu- ma. The Seniors sponsored a school dance that night to welcome us into school activities. Our class play “Junior Buys a Car,” was given November 14th. The well-chosen cast gave an excellent performance. Our Freshmen boys took an active part in athletics and our girls supported the Pep Club. All the mem- bers of the class took an active part in various school organizations. FRESHMAN OFFICERS President ............Harold Stitt Vice-President .....Virginia Lewis Secretary ........Joyce Christensen Treasurer ............Jim Lorensen Student Represent- ative ..............Jim Allingham

A MAN TO REMEMBER • • • For the past few years a familiar figure around these halls of B. H. S. has passed un-acclaimed. He is the person who polishes the gym floor, cleans up after school dances, sweeps the class-rooms, and even peacefully contends with the num- erous sunflower seed hulls to be found on the premises. He is the man who always has a cheery hello, and a few extra words of encouragement handy to be passed along to those who find themselves in such need. He is also the object of many a harried search and Have you seen Bert? When something goes wrong and no one can locate what is needed, the problem is referred to Mr. Clift. To one who has done so much for us—the present and past student bodies— we owe a huge debt of gratitude. He is not one to be forgotten, but a Man to Be Remembered------- BERT CLIFT
