From those first foggy days in the North Atlantic to the long hot hours under the Mediterranean sun the USS BRUMBY proved herself to be a truly professional antisubmarine hunter. Under all sorts of weather conditions from fair to foul her sonar prob- ed the depths, she moved with that consummate grace only a de- stroyer knows, and she did it all well. For those of us who sailed her through strange waters to far shores, the ups and downs of fate and fortune only served to make her more a fighting lady while, daily, we became more sure of ourselves and each other.
