148 DEDICQTION or mms lvlcmomuon. Q1-oonom The S483,5OO Sams Memorial Stadiumwas dedicated to the memory of Earl Corder Sams and to the welfare of the youth of Brownsville and the surrounding area. The dedication ceremony was held at the first game of the se a s on, where the life of Mr. Sams was reviewed by Gilbert Sharpe and .Tames Pace. The Stadium was accepted with much gratitude by the Superintendent, E. L. Pritchett. The Dedicatory prayer was given by Reverend Copeland. Atthe end of the ceremony, season tickets were given to the trustees, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lightner.
