Much of our team was made up of boys from the grammar schools and the junior high schools. Even though district boxing meets were not held during the year of 1949-1950,We took highest honors at the Y.M.C.A. meets at McAllen and at Brownsville. Our track team made aparticularly good showing this year winning firsts in the 440-yd. re- lay, broad jump, and mile relay in District Meet and s e c ond in the mile and sprint relays in Regional Meet. The track team also went to State Meet and made a good showing even though they were not able to place.
