Injuries received thru- out the season prevented him from developing into the player he might have been. Outside of his experience as fullback on the second team last years, this is Frank's tirst year of football. HAROLD SHUCKMAN Substitute Harold will be eligible for several season's play, so he was handled this season to give him the maximum of experience with the minimum of re- sponsibility. He responded splendidly, and as the season advanced developed consistently in speed. strength. and inowledge of the game. TOMAS TIJERINA Substitute The spirit of Jose Salvador de la larza, who wrested this region from the Indians abides with his descend- ants. Tomas graduated from his job as coach, captain, and quarterback of the 11l's to that of alternate quarter- back on the regular team, and through- out the season steadily improved his football judgment and technique. Starting next year larger, stronger, faster and more experienced, Tomas should be an invaluable Iield general. 7-v- f f 2-5 V'Tl iff? GEORGE GILUPE S1lbSfifIlfE' George, who had always imagined that asthma and a slight build barred him from playing football, demon- strated just how unimporlant such handicaps are to a youngster possessed of determination and COLIFELQG. George went into the San Benito game and by using his noodle , stopped in three plays the only flurry of line attacks that line plunging team was able to start. ALBERT STEPHENS Right Tzzrklw Steve worked all night, came to school by day. and played football be- tween times. He was the main spring of the Brownsville line on attack. he always got his man , on the cle- fensive. Loyal, dependable, manly, and unassuming, Steve was every- thing a football man should be, and his memory will long be with us. ARTHUR BIGGS Right End Although traincd for a tackle, and nature meant him for a center. Arthur was a regular on the B. H. S. eleven all year at end. This was his first year's experience in football, but he htted in well with the r st of the team. Few opposing players baffled Arthur, , , , , ,, .,ff -4 J, ..:,.- ll f' 444' li f , 1' .- K ' .
