After our second look, we found out that it was Creek, the Greek letters being used in many mathe- matical operations. In our last two years, we at- tempted to solve puzzles that had no solutions and enjoyed reading articles not found in the syllabus. VVe all remember the first time that we heard the word Horizons mentioned. The average com- ment was 'fWhat's that? Many of us found out after reluctantly passing thirty-Eve cents up to an English teacher reputed to fail those who failed to subscribe. Then came the pleasant sur- prise . . . we liked it! The Science Bulletin kept us infomied on the world of science from our first days in an I. P. room right down to the Physics or Chem regents or that Chemistry comprehensive. It included the activities of all the science departments of the school. After school hours, those of us brave, hardy, or fool enough to trudge up to the seventh floor, found Harold Fruchtbaum, Editor-in-Chief, di- rectin all operations in the publication of our schoof newspaper. VVith scissors, glue, and edi- tors Welcher, Berry, Cohen, Trachtman, Rosen- berg, Apfelbaum, and Kohn, the Survey is com- posed anew. For four years, it has been our monthly recorder of school events.

Highlighting this Turkey B y l sic, w en Mione's 100 yard touch- down run which accounted 12, l ne sy ' . . . . In '48, we again provi tlkiurk, for Hempstead's Thanksgiving dinner. This time the Indians rsed the ax on us to the tune of 27-7, not quite as bad as the previous s son's shellai 'ng. Last season's loss to New ' cht dash all hopes for the city's mythical football crown. On Thanksgivin y, I9 the Blue and White gridsters boarded their private bus with xf anc ' n their eyes. It was a chilly holiday morning. The stands we pack with Hempstead rooters. Their 250-man marchin band and 200 -ci x put on a good show for the har ul 0 , echnites who came. Before the morning was over, the invaders in if- klyn demonstrated how a well- coachled team, with a good grou attack, uld take apart an over-confident S U21 . yi q After two years of i noble eats it the hands of the Hempstead Indians, Tech had won 7-Il!!! Q. Amon the foremost of ou duatfr 4 pigskin-perambulators is Walt Tomasshofi a four-year perfomi r whos stalwart line play as iirst-string tackle slated him to become co-c in 0 this year's inactive grid machine. Manning the forward wall are ' a le ed Kaiser, a three-year veterang gohn Gentille, Ioe Pomesg and two l ' e s, Bob Dwyer and Em Menegay. eniors in the backfield are Blocki g '.- Bob Gordon, anot er three-year ball playerg and G.O. prexy Iim Ie le, e speedy wingback who also excels in track. 5 Hopes for next year are runn' 1 igh with Ron Melnick, Billy Assiff, Ken Gehlbach, Ed Palanek, Hank . lo, Bob Kelly and Ioe Salter among the returning varsit . l From a SENICOR's point of V vvlryl may be another good year for Coach Cirillo's aspiring young pro re's hoping!
