We watched in awe as Gordon Fleming shredded the opposi- tion lineg as Frank Downing flipped bulletlike passes to sharply cutting endsg as Vinnie Birra and George Salvino cracked through to smear enemy playsg as Vince Monobianco and Murray Gecht- man fed each other for hard-driving lay-up shots. We read of the exploits of Dick Truesdell and parable Lennie Steiner as he raked his opponents' heroes were so distant that we couldn't imagine the successors would be our intimate friends. We progressed to the second year.
