1x06 v ofetrff Us Faces became familiarg a more fra- ternal feeling pervaded our dances, for we were socially maturing. The Sev- enth term dance-a preview of senior activities! It was nice being 11 junior senior. Our Senior Night was II swell showl Charley dill look comical dressed as Il female. And wasn't th11t classroom satire El riot? And then- qlune 20, 19-17-the biggest single social event of all our years at Tech- thc Senior Prom! Maybe it was your first form11l affair? XVas that me in Il sharp dinner jacket with a dazzling girl who wore il misty gown and a fragrant corsage? At the Hotel Pierre, wasn't it? Thick carpets and an inti- mate atmosphere: a truly perfect set- ting from which to fade out of a glorious period of our lives. . . PH DAYDREAMING Very few of us came to those dances in first or second term, mostly lJCC2lllSC there were no girls in the school 11nd we were too young to date any from other schools. Maybe in third or fourth? Say! Remember the blinking red night lights of the radio tower, 11nd how proud we were of our big gym with its oval track, 11nd her admiring gasps at the bro11d marble first floor halls 11nd impressive lobby with its symbolic bronze seal. Perhaps you saw the first amateur show? lV2lS1llI it strange to see our solemn plush, assembly hall llSUlllly filled for more formal purposes, packed with lilllgllillg boys and girls, with not 21 worry or thought of school in their heads? Our junior year saw a change in our spirits.

The trouble came when each resembled A good and sturdy President. The chair recognizes Mr. Herbert Glick, the gentleman from 82. ML Chairman! Members of the convention!-In order to further the line reputation associated with the name of our party, I move the nomina- lion of our most brilliant friend and colleague, Mr. Lawrence Dolgoff, who in the last four years, by his outstanding ability and hard work, has risen from obscurity to the exalted position of first in our class of june 19-l7. Amidst the resounding cheers of the Dolgoff family, and IIWVIII Shapiro. Andrew Montuori, Dave Ragone and Herb Yagid, all fellow members of that exclusive social set referred to as the Ten Top Seniors, Glick relin- quished the Hoor to his distin- guished colleague from the Service squad, Inspector Gerald Pruzan. A Lawrence Dslgoff hush drew over the audience as the dark-haired man, 'resplendent' in his sparkling badge and squad card, made his way to the speakers' rostrum, surrounded by a cortege of first lieutenants. His voice rang through the audience as he cited the virtues of Captain john Kirch- hoff, his superior oflicer. Those of us in days gone by who have fol- lowed his spectacular career, and especially those who have tried to sneak into the lunchroom line, know him to be a man to watch. N514 , ft .-'t E
