Waters, R, Glat- OPERETT QRCHESTR The operetta orchestra for Brigadoon , given in 1960, had an ex- tremely difficult job to do. Those student musicians who played in the orchestra had to gear their every move to the action on the stage. All musical cues were given by the orchestra, and it also provided necessary background music for the dialogue, For the orchestra to do its job and do it well, a great deal of effort was required on the part of all members, for here were amateur musicians playing music written for pro- fessionals. The operetta orchestra did do a very fine job, and deserve a great deal of credit. 75
