The National Honor Society, a society for high school scholars, is now in its fifth year at Brooklyn Park High School. lts fourfold goal is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourge the development of character in the students at Brooklyn Park. During i959-60, our society, under the guidance of Doctor Mary J. Carroll and Mr. Richard P. To reward and encourage individual achievement in journalism and sim- ilar fields is the purpose of this club. The motto, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, has always been remem- bered by society members as they carry out their journalistic assign- ments. The organization, under , the sponsorship of Mrs. lone Mac- Laughlin, takes an active part in stimulating and maintaining higher standards in the literary efforts in our school.
