Earning a CAA monogram involves nearly two years of active participation in athletics, while the second award calls tor between 3 and 4 years of world. We receive one hundred points for each activity in which we participate, with an extra twenty-five given for out- standing ability. Extra points are earned by particiption in unorganized activities such as ping pong and badminton. Our ping pong tournament presents another opportunity for nearing our one thou- sand point goal. McMillan, Hx-als, Nelson. Durlnnu, Schrailelg Mr, Tfell, Sunil:-t, Seas. ZOO IN INTRAMURAL SPORTS About two hundred boys participated in our intramural program this year. This program gives those boys who are not capable of playing on the A or B squad a chance to participate in different sports and earn their physical education points. A senior intramural basketball team captained by George Sundet defeated another senior team headed by Dick Lott for the intramural basketball champion- ship. For the first year the members of the championship team were awarded medals. At the close of the football season, kicking contests open to all boys were sponsored. Swift, Patterson, and T. Cru- sinberry won the different divisions and were awarded medals. In the free-throw contest Ivan Steen won from Harlan Kelly in the finals. About thirty-five boys took part in a newly organized boxing tournament en- gineered by Earl Tillgren. Every weight was represented and the winners in each division were awarded medals. The freshman basketball team, under Virgil A. Bell, had a most successful season by winning five out of seven games from Coach Doering's junior high team and by breaking even in a two game series with the Madison freshmen. Members of the squad were: Adamson. Martin, Hill, Graham, Kelly, johnson, Heslop, Niklason, and Watson,

'l'linii1lisiin, Il, lhstv, A CAA letter means a lot to usl it's the climax of our athletic career, the goal toward which we've been working. But more to us than the tangible re- ward, a monogram, are those things which we have gained which were not presented to us before a high school assembly. By particiption in athletics we've learned to give and take, to accept re- sponsibility, to accept a decision as final regardless of personal opinion. By partic- ipation in athletics we've earned what we conisder an invaluable asset-a spirit ot true sportsmanship. Sponsoring both social and athletic activities, we members ot CAA consti- tute an organization devoted to service and sportsmanship.
