Dick Lott was selected as editor and Olin C-ile, business manager. These two people, with the help of the Bobcat's advisers, Mr. Zick and Mr. Horrigan, chose the rest of the staff. This year the School Board bought a camera for school use. Because of this, most of this year's Bobcat pictures were taken by the staff members. The Bobcat, published by last year's Senior class, won third place in the class A division of South Dakota High School Press Association contest. BROBOCA VIEWS THE NEWS The Broboca, our school paper, is pub- lished weekly as a department ot the Brookings Register. News is furnished to the Brookings Press by our assistant editor, Mildred Hemmingsen. Copies are issued to holders of activity tickets. We sponsor the Publications Club, a new organization. Our staff attended the South Dakota High School Press Asso- ciation at State College October 2, l939. We actively participated in the depart- mental paper round-table discussion. At this meeting the Broboca placed third among departmental papers of the state in schools with ZOO-499 enroll- ment. The paper belongs to the Quill and Scroll, International Honor Society tor high school journalists, and the South Dakota High School Press Association. This year the Broboca, helped by other school organizations, inaugurated the first Red and Black week, October 30 to November 3, as an added pep feature for Bobcat Day.
