To me. this line has a powerhouse of meaning. As an essential link in a chain, each of us has necessary responsibilities to the world in which we live. If the link, or individual, completes its task, then the chain, a body of individuals, functions properly. So each Brooke Hill girl has obligations to fulfill in order to maintain the high standards of the school. It is my hope that each student will give her utmost in the fields of education, sports, and moral character. She will thus strengthen not only herself but Brooke Hill, of which we are all so proud! 7 FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION r'V • a -v w A- I •u V« ' •• f 4 V . W N V — ’ «3H . • . She has given us a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Roman civilization and the Latin language, and. of even greater importance, a deeper insight into life itself. She unselfishly gives of herself to Brooke Hill and takes a personal interest in each of her students. She is truly an example of her philosophy: non nobis querendum est —we must not complain. Because of her worthwhile advice and unyielding friendship she has become one of us: therefore, in loving gratitude, we. the Seniors of 1966. dedicate this annual to Mary Lois Forbes. 18' MARY LOIS FORBES JULIA GRANT ABELE 1958-1966 Mm Gago i ‘s another one of those days! . . . IN APPRECIATION LUCILLE TWINING She was always able to distinguish between an illness and a case of hooky-fever, much to our dismay. It took a great deal of patience to put up with the various interruptions that occured during the day: calls home, trips to the supply store, and countless questions, in addition to running a hospital and post office at the same time. She always seemed to know the solution to our numerous problems, both great and small. We are extremely grateful for her fifteen years of service to Brooke Hill, and we will never forget her. 64 ■m
