WEAPONS DEPARTMENT, under the direction of LT Moran, Jr., consists of lst Division, 2nd Division, AS' Division, and TA Division. , First Division comprised of Boatswains mates are responsi- ble for maintaining the ship's exterior paint job, ship's boat, and are involved in all underway-evolutions frefueling, rear- ming, provisioning of food and stores, and a most important evolution at sea . . . the transfer and receipt of maill. Their division officer LTJ G Harris will be relieved by ENS Easley when he receives orders to 2nd Marine Division. Second and TA Divisions under the direction of CWO3 Wilke are com- prised of Gunners mates, Firecontrol technicians and Oceanographic technicians. They are responsible for the ship's guns, fire control radar, and surveillance system. AS Division comprised of Sonar technicians, ASROG Gunners mates, and Torpedomen, maintain the ship's anti-submarine warfare systems.
