From The Desk Of The Commanding Officer As in the past, the 1969 deployment of BRONSTEIN has been a particularly successful one. BRONSTEIN has made a favorable and lasting impression on every SEVENTH Fleet Command served. The praise that We have re- ceived has not been tendered lightly, but was in recognition of tasks per- ' formed with forethought, initiative, and expediency. The fact that BRON- STEIN never missed an operational commitment in Seventh Fleet is one seldom duplicated under similar conditions and something for which all hands should be especially proud. The keynote to our success lies in one i word---readiness, and the key to readiness is not material or money, but men. In every situation you reacted in a capable and confident manner and, most importantly, with true Navy spirit. Your conduct ashore in foreign lands and the hand of friendship that you have extended to our allies overseas have made you real ambassadors of good Will. You have given this ship a mark of professionalism that is of the highest order. Each of you should have a firm sense of accomplishment for you have become, by your actions, a superior Navy crew. It has been a sincere honor and pleasure to have you all as ship- ' mates. I am extremely proud of every one of you and am confident of your success no matter what the future may bring.
