It is in this dark, mysterious space that the radar- men compile, evaluate, and disseminate the information vital to the operation of a warship. Because of the many sensors associated with CIC, it becomes necessary that the radarmen have a .knowledge of all aspects of warfare and maintain a round- the-clock watch in order to locate the enemy and evaluate his strength so that the ship may effectively combat this nation's foes. Swinger Operations Officer The Operations Department is responsible for all radio communications, electronic warfare, intelligence collection, radar information, dissemination of operational information, navigation, medical services, maintenance of electronic equipment, and administrative and postal services for the ship. This multitudinous mission was carried out efficiently and effectively during the deployment by the 45 highly-skilled, team- spirited officers and men of the three di- visions 4OI,OC,OEJ that make np the Opera- tions Department aboard BRONSTEIN. Thanks primarily to the tireless efforts, never-ending zeal, and professionalism of the men in Ops, BRONSTEIN received well-done from six flag-rank Com- manders While assigned to Seventh Fleet operations.
