LT Charles L. Bonham EXECUTIVE OFFICER LT Bonham was born in Richmand, California, and graduated from the California Maritime Academy with a degree in Marine Engineering He holds a Third Assistant Engineer's license in the Merchant Marine. After serv- ing six months with the Merchant Marines, he entered the Navy in 1961 and was initially as- signed to USS INTERPRETER QAGR-143 as Main Propulsion and Damage Control Assis- tant. Additional assignments included Exec- utive Officer, USS KODIAK QLSM-161Jg stu- dent, U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Engi- neering Officer, USS STORMES QDD-78055 and Aide! Flag Lieutenant to Chief, Military Assistance Advisory Group NORWAY. LT Bonham received the Navy Unit Com- mendation for rescue duties performed following the 1964 earthquake in Alaska. He also holds the Navy Expeditionary, Vietnam Service, and National Defense Medals. He is married to the former Pam Prahl of 1 Seattle, Washington. They have three chil- dren, Scott, 6g Karen, 5g and Tracy, 2.

LCDR Walter D. Bonhag COMMAN DIN G OFFICER LCDR Bonhag was born in Denver, Colorado and received a B.S.B.A. degree from the University of Denver. He has a Master's degree in management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California LCDR Bonhag also attended the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, where he participated in a special study concerning the political problems of emerging nations, in particular, the newly independent coun- tries of Africa. The study was a joint effort between the Naval War College and Brown ' University at Providence, Rhode Island. His operational assignments have been as Communications Officer, USS SPROSTON QDDE-5775, Operations Officer, Staff, COMDESDIV 252, Missile Officer, USS ROBISON QDDG-123, Weapons Officer, USS HENRY B. WILSON QDDG-75, and Exec- utive Officer, USS ROGERS QDD-8765. He also served as Weapons Officer, Manning and Training Branch, Special Projects Office, Washington, D.C., involved in the EBM submarine program. LCDR Bonhag was awarded the Navy Com- mendation Medal with Combat V for duty in the Tonkin Gulf while Executive Officer of the USS ROGERS. He also holds the Com- bat Action Ribbon, Armed Forces Expedi- tionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Medal. His wife is the former Shirlee Johnson of Denver, Colorado. LCDR and Mrs. Bonhag reside in Bonita, California with their four children. Family interests center around the training and showing of registered Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds. They are members of the Sunnyside Saddle Club and have been active in 4-H horse projects.
