IT CAME TO PASS - by Fred. . . It was in the twelfth year of the reign of Emperor Miller, that the Nation of Seventy-one invaded the sacred portals of Broken Bow High School. Five score and ten strong, led by Patriarchs Nierstheimer, Huston, Albin and emissaries Richardson and Shea, they brought witli them many new traditions and ideas. They prospered in this new land, and it was good. There went a decree out of the same Emperor Miller, that the nation of Seventy-one was to move to a new temple. The exodus, led by Triarchs Hyslop, Adams, and Dickey, took place in the eleventh month of the second year. Chief diplomats were Bernhardt, Hiser, Huston, and Shea. Lo and behold, the third year of their occupation was upon them! Shea was presented unto the multitude as the High Priest of the temple. Govier, Davis, and Burnett were deigned as his underlings. Adams, Albin, Huston, Hyslop, Kingston, and Richardson were placed on the council of the elders. Decimated in numbers, they sought to make themselves known. Eleven of their number were cast into the den of lions, to survive unscathed in front of the unbelievers.1 The spring festival proved to be the greatest of all the land. Their treasury was depleted; their storage bins empty. But in their hearts they were happy, and their cup was filled to overflowing. It came to pass that the Nation of Seventy-one grew in stature amongst their peers. For three years they had labored; it was in their fourth year they reaped. Honor, glory, and riches were heaped upon them. Truly they had earned them. From their midst, Mayo was appointed Procurator. Atkisson ruled as Pharisee; Stewart as Scribe. Rabbis were Huston, Albin, and Richardson. Minor priests were Davis, Dickey, Grady, Hirsch, Scofield, and Smith. Wisely did they rule over this great nation, this Nation of Seventy-one. Great was their fame on the battlefield, the mighty Warriors of Seventy-one defeated the barbar- ians that laid siege to the temple. Ten of their number were offered up as a sacrifice to all nations. It was accepted with acclaim. Then, the Prophet Wade descended upon them, and said, Many are the blessings that have been bestowed on you. Use them wisely and you shall not forfeit them. Thus, the Nation of Seventy-one was sent forth unto new lands, new worlds in which to conquer. s E N I 0 R H 1 S T O R Y 1 Junior Class Play 2 Prom 3 Senior Play Those students from South Side attending Kindergarten through 12th grade in Broken Bow.
