Senior Class History 'Mid shouts of joy, tears, and Mother's sigh of relief - Thank heaven he starts to school! - fifty-nine little demons began their worldly-experience on this memorable September 4, 1946. Our grade-school days hold many memories, such as the Circus (South First), a surprise party for the teacher (North Sixth), Halloween parties, Christmas caroling, and football and basketball games between North and South. Suddenly, our carefree days of all play and no work in grade-school took a sudden turn as we entered Junior High. We still had REAL sports, but with REAL uniformed cheerleaders. However, we continued to look forward to the day we would go to high school. AS FRESHMEN: We entered quietly and timidly, only to cause near riots as we became acquainted with each other, teachers, and General Science where we made soda pop and telephones. We elected Terry Osborne as President; Karen McCloughan, Vice President; Twila Wood, Secretary-Treasurer; and Ann Davis and Dick Eldred as Student Council Rep. Mr. Jacob and Mr. Korte were our class sponsors. AS SOPHOMORES: A little wiser and more on the quiet side, we came back for another year. We elected Don Niedt as President; Ann Davis, Vice President; Karen McCloughan, Secretary-Treasurer; and Marlene Holcomb and Jerry Eacker to the Student Council. We sponsored Twirp Week with Night Club as the finale party. Ann Davis was our March of Dimes candidate. Mr. Mignery advised and comforted us as we struggled through Biology and Geometry. AS JUNIORS: We picked com, sold refreshments (Sweenie's Snack Pit) at football games, and put on a play (directed by Mrs. Hagood) - Room for the Groom. Class officers elected were Ann Davis, President; Paul Collicott, Vice President; Twila Wood, Secretary; Maureen McDuffee, Treasurer; Ron Devish and Karen McCloughan, Student Council Rep. 's. Elna Kaelin was our March of Dimes queen-candidate. May 10th found us entertaining the Seniors in Oriental Paradise. We shall never forget our beloved sponsor-and-American-History-teacher Mr. Sweenie. AS SENIORS: This was our final year in high school. We elected Ron Devish, President; Paul Collicott, Vice President; Twila Wood, Secretary; Terry Osborne, Treasurer; Maureen McDuffee and Don Shultz, Student Council Rep. 's. Karen McCloughan and Don Niedt were chosen as Homecoming Queen and King. Attendants were Gerri Nelson, Jim Jennings, Ann Davis. Ron Devish, Sandra Price. Don Shultz. Kay Keller. Vaughn Plock, Twila Wood, Terry Osborne, Marlene Holcomb, and Eddie Landen. The sixty-seven members were ably advised by Mr. Cupl, class sponsor. Karen Wood was our March of Dimes queen-candidate. The month of May found us with feelings of mixed emotions--happy to have completed high school, sorry to leave our Alma Mater, and anxious to pursue new fortunes. May 2 found the seniors honored with a banquet and prom sponsored by the Junior class. Exciting and unforgettable was the senior breakfast held the week before school ended. May 17 marked the date for Baccalaureate, and Class night was held May 18. On May 20, Commencement, the graduating members of the senior class were all together for the last time. And thus farewell is bid to BBHS as we now set out to fulfill our goals by means of our class motto-- Rowing, not Drifting. finalists KINOCRGARTEN GROUP AT BROKEN ROW NORTH WARO SCHOOt R. Nice, F.
