sl SOUTH WARD NORTH WARD'- One bright September morning in 1943, thirty-three mothers sighed with relief as thirty-three scrubbed angels faced their teachers to begin carving their names in Broken Bow's School history, as well as their desks. Sixteen were enrolled at the North Ward, while the South boasted of bettering this record by one more, The fight for survival was a rigorous one and many were lost along the way to other schools.
