On the county’s sout Reared against Proudly stands our Dear Old Brogti May she ever be our watchword Conquer and prevail. Hail to thee, Our Alma Mater Dear Old Brogden, Hail! Vi--.. Zhe Sditor The purpose of this annual is two-fold: First, we believe that the experience gained by those who have worked for its planning and publi¬ cation will prove helpful in later life; Second, we have attempted to record, more or less permanently, a cross section of our high school life which will be cherished through the years. Zhe Senior Class 0 2 3 For his sincere interest in the promotion of education and the welfare of youth, For his advice and direction which he gave us and other students during the school year, o y For his patient guidance under which we made decisions that will aid us in years to come, For his vast knowledge of literature, history and human understanding, Dedi ■ i For his devoted service and enthusiasm in help¬ ing us to produce the 1958 Brohican, For these things, so well remembered, we dedi¬ cate the 1958 Brohican to Mr. Charles Thomas Smith. cation Administration Our faculty is composed of eight teachers, each sharing a personal interest in each of us, as an individual student. Through their unselfish guidance, friendship and understanding we prepare ourselves to achieve our ambitions. They have an important part in the molding of our lives, and in the shaping of our destinies. They share our problems, as well as our happy moments. We shall never forget that what ever we achieve, much credit goes to our principal and the teachers who make up our faculty. Mr. L. J. Outlaw-Principal, Science, Math; Mrs. J. Thomas O ' Berry-English, French; Mr. L. L. Smith-Commercial, Shop, Science; Mr. Royce Swinson- Physical Education, Social Studies, Health; Mr. Donald Melvin-English, Civics, Economics; Mrs. Mary C. Hawley-Math; Mrs. Rosalie S. Smith-Home Economics; Mr. R.K. Jernigan-Agriculture. 6 Our administration is composed of our principal, Mr. L. J. Outlaw, and the local board of education assisted by Mr. Procter, county superintendent. This group provides the administrative leadership which is constantly working to im¬ prove our public school system. Each member has a great responsibility to the school and community, striving to make the school a creation of democracy where the youth of today may secure the feeling of belonging. The local school board is continuously working for the advancement of our school. Our principal Mr. Outlaw is always ready to help where his guidance is needed. With our administration our school will continue to progress. The students who are featured here have been selected by their classmates and the faculty, in one way or another , because they possess in the highest degree the qualities upon which the honor is based. Important in the school life of each student at Brogden High are the activities in which he partici¬ pates. There is a club or an organization to further and develop almost all the interests of the students. The clubs and organizations afford many valuable opportunities to create leadership and provide re¬ warding experiences.
