The Senior Class of 1965 would like to give special recognition to Mr. Eugene Stoddard, our class ad- visor for both our junior and Senior years. Mr. Stoddard has contributed much to our activities during this time. Under his guidance we presented Halfway to Heaven , one of Brocton Central's most beautiful and memorable junior-Senior Proms, in May of 1964. Among his many other services to us, he was the director of our Senior Play, a task well accomplished despite the many and varied problems he confronted. In appreciation for the many long hours spent in making our last two years of high school more wonder- ful and more memorable than any others, weextend to you, Mr. Stoddard, our sincere thanks and best wishes for continued success. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The Senior class started its Freshman year with Mr. Harvey Heath as advlsorg Robert Richardson, Presidentg Fritz Wester, Vice-presidentg Susan Horlcch- er, Secretary, and Faith Weierbadr, Treasurer. As Freshmen, they had limited activities. During their Sophomore year, the Class of 1965 held one dance, called the Witches' Wiggle. That year the class was directed by Mr. Rodger Hazen as advisor. ' Fritz Wester served as Class Presidrmt with Susan Hcrlacher as Vice President, Susan Mahle as Secretary, and Robin Terrill as Treasurer. In a very successful Junior year, the Class operated the concession stand at home football games and held three dances in addition to the junior Prom. The Prom, entitled Halfway to Heaven, proved to be an ingenious. product ofthe ability of the Class. Under the advlsorshlp of Mr. Eugene Stoddard and the lead- ership of its olilcers Fritz Wester, Presidentg Lynne Heyden, Vice Presidentg Susan Horlacher, Secretaryg and Donald Delmmp, Treasurer, the Class produced one of the best junior Prom BCS has ever seen. The Annual Senior Magazine Drive began theyear's activities. Selling more magazines than any previous class, the drive netted a total of S1250 in profits. Fritz Wester again served as President with David Hazelton as Vice Presidentg Susan Horlacher as Secretaryg and Darlene Bamasuto as Treasurer. In May the class sponsored a semi formal Senior Banquet at the Shore- wood Country Club. In addition to these activities two dances were held. The Senior play entitled The Desk Set , written by William Marchant and published by Samuel French Inc., was well received by the public. The elforts of the Class of 1965 proved to be worth- while. 7 1 pew- L, Darlene Ann Bomasuto Donald E. Ahrens Mark E. Bollin Susan Blackmore Ronald joseph Boner Carol A. The Senior Class of 1965 has three such students. Rose Anne Schrader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schrader, maintains an average which can conceivably be a new high in the history of B.C.S. She is this year's recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, and hopes to attend the University of Rochester in preparation for a career in research chemistry. Robin Terrill, daughter of Mr. Warren Terrill and Mrs. Roy Colt, maintains another exceptionally high average. Editor of the 1965 La Liberte', Robin has found her great versatility a slight disadvantage, since she has had difficulty deciding upon a career. She plans to attend Fredonia State College, where she will major in either secondary educa- tion or psycholog. Fritz Wester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Wester, is another of Brocton's finest students. President of his class for three years, Fritz has exhibited fine leadership qualities. In addition, he possesses unusual musical talent, having received the highest instrumental and vocal ratings awarded by the New York Slate School Music Association. Upon graduation Fritz plans to attend Wheaton College, where he will enter a pre-med course of study. All three of these iine students have received letters of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corpora- tion for their performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test given last spring. This honor places them in the top two per cent of the nation's seniors, DERC A 1 ,Q,'f:'2Q5X .. gf.. , , Qiris ff ,-if . , J., ' MSL fig? W, Vw. . .A Q tag? The Bulldogs tied 1963's Co-Champions Northem Area, defeated their perennial rival to the West, Westfield, and put another arch-rival, Silver Creek, to defeat. Shermanalso fell at the hands ofthe Bulldogs. Head Coach Warren Rammacher and his two assistants, Anthony Principe and Walter Zeb retsky, deserve much credit for their hard work in getting the Bulldogs ready for each week's op ponent. For the thirteen Brocton seniors, who played an integral role all year in Brocton's football fortunes, whipping Westfield to retain possession of the Little Brown jug for another year was perhaps their biggest game. That made the third time in their four years of high school that Westfield has fallen victim to the Bull- dogs. These thirteen seniors, with their spirit, drive, and determination, were the nucleus ofa team that pos- sessed the same qualities. UNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL Warren Rammacher is also mentor of the junior High basket- ball team. These are the boys who will someday be playing for the Varsity. GOLF Q-- Chuck Gardner's Brocton netmcn again took a beating in their matches. However only two seniors graduate and the rest of the team, with a year's experience behind them. should be much improved. Golf is in much the same position as tennis is at BCS. The Bulldog linksmen are improving with age and completed per- haps their most successful campalgx last year. Although George Roberts' team did not win any matches, they did manage to outpoint n few of their opponents during the season. As with the tennis tam, Brocton's linksmen should be much improved this year.
