Srudenrs explore enchanred land Ir was on enrirely different world filled wirh rhrills, glory and excirmenr, and yer ir was doomed ro disappear in seconds. One had ro savor every ounce of rhis limired enchanrmenr for soon ir would be rime ro leave rhe land of afrerschool and rerurn ro rhe daily rourine of classes. This rransfigurarion occurred five days a week and each and every Ripplite was a vicrim. When rhe clock hir 3:10, srudenrs exploded from rheir classrooms, eagerly fleeing rheir scholasric environmenr. So some scurried off ro jobs or rehearsals while orhers simply enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of soop operas and reruns. As nighr rime approached, Ripplires underwenr srill anorher change. Along wirh darkness came homework, phone • « calls, and an occasional group srudy session. Dur no marrer how hard one rried ro concenrrare on srudy ing, dreams of rhe weekend invoded everyone ' s mind. Thoughrs of parries, concerts and dares replaced rhose of chemisrry, calculus and English. When Friday rolled around, Ripplires were bursring wirh energy and anriciparion for rhe weekend acriviries such as dollar movies (now $1.25) and picnics ar local parks. For many, rhe weekend meanr work. Parr-rime jobs were rhe major source of income for mosr Ripplires and ofren these interfered wirh social life. Dur regardless of rhe ocriviry, Ripplires made sure rhar every spare minure was pur ro good use. ANOTHER SIZE? . . .
