With nine returning lettermen Gene Beaman coached the Rockets into the Tech tourney with a 3-4 rec- ord. There the Ripplites almost upset Tech before losing to Shortridge. The Rocket cagers downed Mar- tinsville and Greenfield only to lose to New Albany. Washington, War- ren Central, and Tech were the only other teams to beat Ripple while the Black and Orange tallied wins over Noblesville, Manual, South Bend Adams, and Greeneastle. Led by mainstays Bill Newbold, Ken Seamon, and Wally Cox the Rockets entered the Sectional with a 9-10 record. They finished the season with 10 wins and 11 losses.
