' ' e-4faw1ecf.7nllfew0Micw1 The oldest section of the building, built in 1913, has been remodeled and repainted. Crowded conditions have been alleviated by converting two classrooms, the old book- store, and the former teachers' room into offices. One of these classrooms, Room 216, has been partitioned into four new offices. Miss Elizabeth Roberts, whose office is in this room, was made head of the Language De- partment this year. Occupying another office in this room is Miss Miriam King, director of counseling, who assists students with voca- tions and college entrance. Mr. Albert Mahin, co-ordinator, who helps students find employ- ment, has another of these offices. The fourth office is occupied by Miss Rhea Bauer, home visitor. The former teachers' room is the new office of Mr. Hubert L. Wann, dean of boys, and Mrs. Charity Ratcliff, attendance clerk. The room which was formerly the bookstore is now the office of Miss Mary Connor, director of productions. The console for the public address system is situated in this room. Mr. Clovys L. Harvey, who acts as business mana- ger, has been given a room in the main office. A large basement room, formerly used as the girls' locker room, has been converted into a proiection room where films pertaining to class work are shown regularly. The former first aid room and an adia- cent classroom have been transformed into the new publications offices. The headquar- ters of the Riparian Yearbook, the Riparian Weekly, and School News Bureau are located in these rooms. Above left: Betty Sue Ross helps Miss King find a college catalog in her files. Spaciauft fidmalf Remodeled gaifcfinq Completely modern in every respect is Broad Ripple's new library, located in the large room which was tirst the school audi- torium and later the girls' gymnasium. Attrac- tive furniture and pale green walls make studying a real pleasure. A large panel on the rear wall of the room provides space for art displays. Also included in the new library are a glass enclosed work room for the libra- rians, a large and modern checking desk, magazine racks, and filing cabinets. A former classroom has been converted into an enlarged bookstore. Quicker service and adequate storage space are made pos- sible by a long counter and large shelves. Another classroom has been partitioned into offices for Vice-Principal Harold K. Harding and Miss Gertrude Daniel, school book- keeper. Teachers' mail boxes are also located in this room.
