D ' B The night of February 4, 1957 our new buildings were dedicated. The in- vocation was given by Reverend Fred Belleville. The band and choir gave special selections. The presentation of the building was given by Mr. R. S. Gerganoff, the Architect, to Mr. Clarence Herford, President of Board of Edu- cation, who accepted the building. Mr. Donald Currie, Director of Eastern Michigan College Placement Bureau, gave the address and the Reverend 0. E. Priest gave the benedictlon. Approximately six hundred and fifty people attended the dedication. Members of the sophomore class were guides to show people through the school. Refreshments were served afterwards by the Homemaking Departments. On February 2, 1955, the Board of Education employed Mr. R. S. Gerganoff, an Architect of Ypsilanti, Michigan to assist in planning the Education Facilities needed to meet the increasing number of students and to provide improved edu- cational service. Many meetings have been held with the Architect and his staff and a number of different plans and proposals have been considered. Attorney, Fred F. Thrnn, of Lansing, was employed to handle all of the legal problems involved ln submitting a bond resolution, On February 28, 1955, a well attended phblic meeting was devoted to re- ports on some of these plans. At a Board Meeting on May 4, 1955, a decision was reached to call a special bond resolution for May 28, 1955. This passed affirmatively which approved a bond issue of 3235, 000. 00, Kurtz Building Company broke ground in early fall of 1955, completing the building in time for the fall enrollment of 1956.
