Class Poem We entered school in forty-nineg, This dear old senior class of mine Stood on the steps of Britton High, Determined we must do or die. That feared initiation came- The Sophs were heartless in their game. The winter passed, next thing we knew, Huge stacks of dishes we must do-- The All School Banquet ts the date 5 We had no courage to debate. But all to fast one year had gone. Dur Sophomore year we launched upon. We thought of work that must be done Before diplomas could be won, But we'd have parties, fun galore, And who oould ask for any more? When we approached our junior year, All sixteen students lingered near. To climb the ladder step by step To reach the goal which we had set. And as we gave our three-act play, We hoped the folks felt very gay. Our junior Prom, it was the best Of all our parties--all the rest! And so again in fifty-two Our same old class began anew. To reach for goals which we had set, And as we struggled step by step. Our teachers were the very best. Don't you remember every test? They were prepared to point the way Which we must take tozeach that day. And now before we bid adieu, We say, dear teachers, thanks to you. 'I6

Class Song Our school-days now are past and gone, And yet we fondly linger hereg For sweet each joy that we have known: 'Tis sad to part from comrades dear. The world before us brightly lies, Yet here fond mem'ry loves to dwellg With saddened hearts and dewy eyes We bid to all a sweet farewell! Farewell! Farewell! ' We bid to all a sweet farewell! Long will our hearts recall each joy That bound us in sweet friendship here For time can never more destroy The light of mem'ry burning clear. Of other scenes and other cares Our lips must now their story tellg Each heart your tender mem'ry shares, Teachers and comrades, new farewell! Farewell! Farewell! Teachers and co rades, new farewell! Class Motto: Ldfe is what you make it. Class Colors: Persian red and silver grey Class Flower: White Rose. 17
