Class Prophecy Mercy, Mercy, Mercy Hospital New York, New York October 29, 1963 Dear Kathrine, This has been an eventful day. But quickly, let me tell you about it. I went back to Britton, our old home town, for my vacation. As I neared Britton, population 20,000, I noticed a huge hamburger joint. I stopped to get something to eat and inquire if any of our old friends were still in Britton. To my surprise I learned that Jhn Clement was the owner. While I enjoyed my hamburger and visited with Jim, he told me Melvin Sanch was married to Barbara Lutton and they were doing fine on their 'bakers dozen'. Jim also told me that Fred Cross was a top scientist in nuclear physics. He discovered our latest element known as orossium. I also heard that Anna Downing finally married Eddie. They are living in the richest section of Royal Oak, Michigan. As I drove on into the City of Britton I noticed a huge sign announcing 'Youmglove Mens' Storen. I went inside to investigate and discovered that this was the Robert Younglove of our graduating class. He told me that Frank Vallie was a private detective in Las Vegas and Lowell Bush was the owner of the Detroit Tigers. Another successful classmate, Bonnie Naugle, owns the Britton Tnnes. I said good-by to Robert and started to take a walk down the main drag when who should I see but Larry Kancus selling newspapers. I bought one of Larry's papers and read that Ronald Haas was making 'gobs of money' as Lord Binninghmm. Later that day, while trying to locate a beauty salon in the telephone directory, I noticed an advertisement for Cline's Beauty Shop. To satisfy my curiosity I hurried right over. Sure enough it was owned and operated by Ginger Cline. Jeanette Stew- low came in and she said that she had married Dean Spohr and had two lovely children. She also told me that Dean Craig was manufacturer of a new Ry-Krisp and was running a reducing home for fat people. Karen Maschino is married and living a happy life punctuated by three lively children. When I returned to my hotel for the evening I could truthfully say I was tired but happy, and filled with gossip. I just had to write you all the news of our old classmates at Britton. Hope the hospital rou- tines at Walter Reed 1sn't as bad as it is here. , Love and stuff, Shirley BO!'t91. RQNQ 13
