' T, COMMANDER RONALD L. ALSBROOKS UNITED STATES NAVY A native if Birmingham, Alabama, Commander Alsbrooks graduated high school from Sewanee Military Academy in Sewanee, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Management and Business Administration in 1973, and was commissioned from OCS in August 1973. Commander Alsbrooks began sea duty as Weapons Officer, USS GRAND RAPIDS (PG-98), homeported in Naples, Italy. In 1976 he commenced a two year tour as CIC Officer, USS JOSEPHUS DANIELS (OG-27). Commander Alsbrooks was then assigned to shore duty as Enlisted Programs Officer, Navy Recruiting Area Three in Macon, Georgia. Following graduation from department head school in 1981, Commander Alsbrooks completed a tour as Weapons Officer, USS BREWTON (FF-1086). His second department head tour was as First Lieutenant, USS ST LOUIS (LKA-1 16). in 1984, Commander Alsbrooks reported to Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet and was assigned to Operations Mobilization Planning. Commander Alsbrooks then served as Executive Officer, USS TUSCALOOSA (I.ST 1 187) and Operations Officer, USS PELELIU (LHA-5). Commander Alsbrooks assumed command of USS BRISTOL COUNTY (LST 1198) on 14 September 1990. Commander Alsbrooks has been awarded four Navy Commendation Medals. He resides in San Diego with his wife, Ada, a native of Auckland, New Zealand.

THOMAS UNITED STATES NAVY Lieutenant Commander Thomas was born on 2 February 1954 in Memphis Tennessee He was commissioned into the United States Navy in September, 1978 through the Naval Officer Candidate School Newport, Rhode Island. His initial duty was as First Lieutenant and, later. Main Propulsion Assistant on the SS Bradley (FF 104 Urn San Diego, CA from 1979 to 1982. He served as an instructor on the staff of the Surface Wa tar. O t,ce School, Coronado, CA from 1982 to 1985. After completing the Department Head course m ' 986. h- was assigned as the Engineering Officer in the USS FRESNO (LST 1 1 82) homeported ,n Long Beach, Cahforn.a and subsequently, from 1989 to 1990, as a member of the CINCPACFLT Propuls.on Examm.ng Board m San Diego California From 1990 to the present, Lieutenant Commander Thomas has served as Executive Ottictr on the USS BRISTOL COUNTY (LST 1198) homeported in San Diego, California. Lieutenant Commander Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wabash College in 1976, His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal. Lieutenant Commander Thomas is the son of Louis Thomas and.Bernice Walker Thomas of Nlcmphis. Tennessee. He is married to Cleopatra Word of Memphis, Tennessee. They have a son Matthew, one .ar old.
