92 ..,, ,, WMM: After departing Fremantle on May 24, it seemed as if San Diego was just around the corner. The next two months were to prove, however, to be busy ones. During our ten day transit back to Subic Bay we played a part in a large scenario called Battle Week 84, which culminated in BCS participation in exercise Valient Usher 84-SKS. This joint USXROK amphibious operation was similar to TEAM SPIRIT and took place from 18-24 June. Before the exercise we had a four day port visit to Pusan, and after the completion of the operation we headed SouthEast for the Simoneseki Straits and on to Yokosuka, Japan. Our ten day upkeep there provided a well needed rest for both ship and crew, and while in port we made our preparations for BCS return transit to San Diego.
