Executive Officer LCDR James A. Hayes Lieutenant Commander James A. Hayes entered the regular NROTC program at Northwestern University in 1967 and gradu- ated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in June, 1971. His initial sea tour was as Combat Information Center Officer in USS MAD- DOXQDD-731j followed by a tour in USS PARSONS as Navigator and Communications Officer. In 1974 he was assigned to Service Schools Command Great Lakes where he worked in curriculum development at the Propulsion Engineering School. Subsequent assignments have included a tour in 1977 as Oper- ations Officer in USS O'CALLAHANfPP-10515 and duty as Chief Engineer in 1979 in USS RACINEQLST-1191D. LCDR Hayes re- ported for duty as Executive Officer in March, 1983 after attend- ing the Naval Postgraduate School where he was awarded a Mas- ter of Arts degree in National Security Affairs Lieutenant Commander Hayes is married to the former Holly Bower of Chicago They have two children James and Emily and reside in Chula Vista California QWIKQ GU is ' NX W' Qgitwss .
