CDR Carroll D, Brown CO Commander Carroll D. Brown enlisted in the U.S. Na- val Reserve in May 1958, He re- ceived a Baccalaureate Degree from Wofford College in May 1962 and was commissioned Ensign in August 1962. Commander Brown ' s assign- ments have included USS Box- er (LPH-4); USS Rankin (AKA-103); USS Holder (DD- 819); USS Bache (DD-470) as Engineer; USS Duval County (LST-758) as Commanding Of- ficer; USS Charles Berry (DE- 1035) as Commanding Officer; and Destroyer Squadron Twen- ty-six as Chief Staff Officer. In addition to sea assign- ments, Commander Brown has had tours in The Bureau of Na- val Personnel and Navy Re- cruiting District, San Francisco. Commander Brown is mar- ried to the former Nancy Anne Buice of Spartanburg, South Carolina. They have a son, Robert, 17, and a daughter, Eli- zabeth, 6. He graduated from the Armed Forces Staff College in 1976 and he received A Master of Arts Degree from the Naval Post Graduate School in May 1977.
