Virginia and Donald Sedgwick were the dorm parents. A broken water pipe created havoc and hysteria in the basement of Emily Rich- ards Hall after a particularly hard rain. The water broke windows, ruined some of the trunks stored on the floor and left several girls temporarily homeless. Un- daunted by the inconvenience, however, the dorm rallied to hold exchanges with Helaman Halls, their annual dinner- dance, annual spring banquet and hon- ored dorm scholars with a scholarship night. Dorm father Donald Sedgewick was enrolled in the MBA program and dorm mother Virginia graduated from BYU in homemaking education. 243
