The woman gathering flowers for a Grecian festival was not far removed from the girl who now spends all night decorating for a big dance. We find that throughout the ages of the world a universal language which ignores time ' s barriers is laughter, arising from man ' s infinite capacity to enjoy himself and to amuse himself. Ever since the days of Eden he has invented intricate games, trained his body for sport competitions and planned events which would satisfy that other side of himself which seeks entertainment. DEPICTING GOVERNMENT of studentbody, leaders show their position and responsibilities. ATTENDING BANQUET at lodge were Elva Davis, Lillian C. Booth and Cleo McCraclcen. SUNRISE SERVICES set mood for coming year. planning on a big year One hundred fifty student leaders and faculty members met before school started this year to outline a successful student government and to become acquai ' nted with each other. Held in Bryce Canyon National Park, Leadership Week was keynoted by Harvey L. Taylor, Executive As- sistant to the President of the University. Behold Eter- nity was chosen as the theme of the conference, and special emphasis was put upon the importance of laying a good foundation for better things to come. The pro- gram featured information sessions, games and singing. Dr. Henry L. Isaksen, Student Coordinator, was in charge of the meeting, and Lyn n Richards of the LDS Church Sunday School Board was a featured speaker. Highlight of the meet was a sunrise service on Inspiration Point, where participants gathered before dawn in one of America ' s most beautiful National Parks. TAKING HELM of school, leaders planned for a year of advance- ment.
