Indian Baskefball Tribe 1 Led by Chiefs Russell McDonald and Tommy Harris the Indian basketeers in their opening game wiped out the Wallace quint 91 37 They then downed the St Augustine tribe 64 54 Their next contest was with a group of older warriors whom they conquered 62 51 The triumphant tribe then invaded Shinnston where they were defeated After this they vanquished Unidis and Ph1l1pp1 but fell to the strong Salem Cubs Taking to the war path again the Indians defeated Bristol 61 52 Flemington 81 64 and Unidis 69 56 A fierce Belmgton tribe however drove them back with a 53 52 score Misfortune overtook the Indians who fell to Salem St Mary s and Belington How ever they drove back a fighting Bristol tribe and led bv Chiefs Jerry Rogers and Dick Whiteman scalped Flemington Their next battle was with Ph1l1pp1 over whom they were victorious They next invaded Shinnston and St Mary s receiving defeats from both tribes The Indians end ed their march with a victory over Lumberport The tribe then left the mountain top to attend the tournaments at Clarksburg In the first contest the Indians edged out Flemington after which they took Lumberport In the finals the Indians clashed with the fast and fierce Salem tribe who topped them 56 44 The fighting Indians came back to the mountain top In the evenings they sit around the glowing camp fires and tell tales of their wonderful uctories Eagerly they await the next year when they again will ta ke to the war path KI CU WA PAGE TWENTY NINE r I l . . - a . . . , , . v U Returning to their own territory, they beat their old foe, Lumberport, 73-61. lb . . . - n l ' n . l ,
