Coach - Sam Wamble 1979-80 Varsity Wrestling Team The Varsity Wrestlers struggled throughout most of the season. The team lacked experience at many positions and also had several key injuries. The team as a whole did progress and became stronger by the season's end, and they were much more competitive. Several wrestlers did well in the District Tournament and then advanced into the Regionals. Bob Adams was the team captain and finished high in the Regional Tournament. By sea- son's end, the team had gained the experience needed to be more com- petitive in the upcoming season and should represent Briarcrest well. Sports --

GIRLS' VARSITY BASKETBALL This year's girls' varsity basketball team has accomplished much. They won a total of 17 games and reached the semi-finals of the regional tournament. This team gained much this year. They were described by their coach as being very unselfish, close-knit and team-coordinated. They attributed many things to the Briarcrest sports program.
