old frlend, Gerrltt Boon As you perhaps know, Boonvllle and 1ts vlcinity,
where the students of Boonv1lle Central School l1ve, was f1FSt settled by
Lynheer Boon He wanted to call the reglon after you, because you were a great
natlonal hero of h1s natlve Holland But the other settlers who came wlth h1m
1ns1sted on calllng lt Boonv1lle For many years now, each S8W1OT Class of
Boonvllle Central School has kept your memory al1ve bj calling 1tS yearbook,

The Class of 1952 thought that lt would be a good idea this year to recall
to lts readers the reason why the book has this title and to present 1ts con
tents 1n such a way that you would get to know us
In the flrst sectlon of our book, you wlll be lntroduced to our dl3t1HgulSh6d
administrators and facalty and to the flne people who take care of our school,
our cafeterla and our busses In the second part, you w1ll come face to Pace
w1th all the other boys and glrls, from the oldest down to the t1n1est The
fourth section tells you about our actlvltles and accompllshments in sports, and
the flfth w1ll g1V6 you an 1dea of our varied muslcal, social and artistic actlv
lties In the last sectlon you w1ll flnd the advertlsements of frlends of ours
who helped to make the publlcatlon of thls book posslble and to whom we are
extremely grateful
