Kennedy USN, was born in Seattle, Washington where he attended the University of Washington and participated in the NROTC program. Graduating in June, 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, he was subsequently commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. His first tour was as Assistant Turret III Officer aboarfdithe ,.,lfi USS NEW JERSEY QBB-621. Heqthenlserved ashore at Navy Recruiting iDistricft5!Chicago, and was Officer Programsllvlanagier for Navy Recruiting areafiyeq Heireturned to sea as the USS BARBEY 0313410881 in June 1982. In 1984, Commander,Kennedy assumed R9CIl1i'fin8 District Milwaukee. Following this shore commandhe returned to USS NEW he served as Operations Officer. Commander Kennedy assumed command of USS BREWTON CPF-10861 in August of 1988.
