SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Secretary-'I'reasurerZ Jean Flaherty President: Ernest Moore Vice President: Fred Littlelield Class Marshal: Elwin Gleason CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1943 the present Senior Class entered the high school like a trickling, quiet mountain stream. The class ofllcers were: Ellen Stratton, president, Maurice Alpert, vice-president, and Phyl- lis Burrill, secretary-'treasurer. The members chosen for the Student Council were Ellen Strat- ton, David Allen, and Elrie Carpenter. During the year the Freshman Dramatics Club presented a play entitled The Kid Makes Up His Mind. The cast included Ellen Stratton, Nancy Huggard, Carolyn VVoods, Fred Little- field, Clarence Bunker, Phyllis Burrill, and Maurice Alpert. In September, 1944, our class returned for another year. Soon after election day at Brewer High, we learned that Ernest Moore had become class president, Ellen Stratton, vice-presi- dentg and Phyllis Burrill, secretary-treasurer. I0 yce Baker, Winfield Stratton, and Ernest Moore were elected to the Student Council. c'Here We Are Againn was the motto of our class in the fall of H457 Class officers were: Maurice Alpert, president, Barbara Foster, vice-president, Merna Baker, secretary-treasurer. Elected to the Student Council were Robert Libby, Clarence Bunker, and Maurice Alpert. The outstanding event of our Junior year was Junior Exhibition, when we all marched un- steadily down the aisle. The speakers were Annette O'Connor, Edgar Hall, Ianice Maddocks, Clarence Bunker, Ellen Stratton, Maurice Alpert, jean F laherty, Robert Farrington, Phyllis Bur- rill, and Ernest Moore. jean Flaherty and Ernest Moore won the prizes. The I-irst notable event was the Senior play, S'The Daffy Dillsf, The participants were-Phyl- lis Burrill, Ellen Stratton, Joyce Peters, Jean Flaherty, Annette O,Connor, Geraldine Hanscom, Merna Baker, Janice Madd-ocks, Elrie Carpenter, Edgar Hall, David Allen, and Clarence Bung ker. The play was under the direction of Mrs. Josephine Gray Doe. Another prominent event was the completion of the Trident, with Joyce Baker as editor-in- chief. The advisors were Mr. Ernest Haskell, Mrs. Christobel Lawrie, and Mr. Woodrow Bailey. Our last act was-to be graduated. Congratulations went to Margaret Nickerson, valedic- torian and Joyce Baker, salutatorian. Having completed the requirements of the school, the class was graduated, the mountain stream has expanded and flowed into the sea of opportunity.
