Welcome To Brevard The first week at college has to be the most frus- trating and exciting time in a student ' s life. It ' s like walking into a totally different world filled with new friends and good times. It all starts with moving all of our favorite stuffed animals and favorite clothes to a whole new room . . . moving into a college dorm. However, friends are made quickly in our new homes. Movies, dances, and popcorn parties bring newly found friends closer together. But there ' s also a more serious side to college life at Brevard. To begin put- ting everyone in the right frame of mind, we have Fall Convocation. This ceremony prepares us to set our goals for our upcoming college experience. Like ever- ything else, college life has its ups and downs, but one thing ' s for sure: It ' s a once in a lifetime experience and it has to begin somewhere. The first few days of college go hand-in-hand with dances, bands, and the confusion of get- ting settled in. No matter how confusing col- lege gets, the possibilities seem endless. I ' 6 Orientation

Goblins, Ghosts, And Ghouls . . . Along with the Jack o ' lantern which smiled so wickedly came suspense on Halloween night. The sullen and fog- thickened night was perfect for the grotesque figures who stalked the campus at Brevard College. Who in their right mind would come out on such a night? is the ques- tion one might ask. And the answer is Brevard College Students. Despite the race of the horrible creatures to various Halloween parties, the students, dressed in every costume one could imagine, were eager to experience the unexpected of Halloween night. As in the previous year the females traveled in groups for safety, but that still did not protect them from the Halloween ghost who threat- ened their lives. Once the horror-stricken students reached the Student Union where the masquerade party was held, they began to dance their fears away. The party filled with strange people was a blast as everyone indulged in the Monster Mash. 18 Htlloween isRBmnnsniM
