Growth at Brevard College of them is that girls have been moved into Taylor Hall, where the boys used to abide. Since most of the young men are in the service, you see only a few around the campus. This great change is due to the war and has not only taken place on our campus but everywhere. In June both the graduation of the seniors and the celebration of the Tenth An- niversary of the college will occur. This is to be a great event in the history of Brevard College. Also our working toward the goal of $200,000 endowment has contributed to making this one of the greatest years in the life of the institution in spite of all the difficulties growing out of wartime conditions. We look forward to the time when the college may expand materially and at the same time maintain that spirit of cooperation, friendliness, and intimacy which it has possessed from the beginning.

...I- Ten Years of Many changes have occurred at Brevard College since it opened ten years ago. Those teachers who were here that first year, as well as the students, had many prob- lems to face and solve. The first week there were no dishes, knives, or forks for the kitchen, and no equipment for the Biology Laboratory or other things necessary for a college. These were a few of the things those teachers had to face. Dr. Coltrane was always near to help in any way possible. This first year was hard; but even with all the difficulties, the teachers and stu- dents seemed to enjoy being together and working to make everything better. The teas given by Miss Smith and Miss Hayes, the midnight snacks in the Biology Laboratory, after the girls were in bed, as well as the little sessions merely to talk over the happenings of the day were enjoyed by the teachers. Various activities such as hikes, square-dances, and parties were the delight of the students. The work and play they shared seemed to draw them closer together. Since then, Brevard College has moved forward each year. New students come, as well as new teachers, remain ten months, a year or two years, and leave. They always come back to visit, and frequently write and send everybody their best wishes. In 1941 the enrollment consisted of four hundred men and women. At that time Dr. Coltrane drew up his plans for a bigger and better Brevard College. A library, a science building, an industrial education building, and two new dormitories were included. Some day when this war is over Dr. Coltrane ' s dream will materialize. This year many changes have occurred, just as thev did in 1934. 1 he greatest
