She can accomplish with skill anyhing that she attempts. She ' s not ' A Comedy of Errors, ' nor a ' Midsummer Night ' s Dream ' , but take her ' As You Like It ' , she ' s just what she would seem. Through rain or sun, calm or storm, he comes to Brevard College and does a swell job as Mr. Trow- bridge ' s assistant. We see in his determination and work that he has what it takes to be successful. HATTIE OPHELIA GILES Campobello, South Carolina . smarter girl we ' ll never find — And tn the boys she pays no mind. Mitch is a boy who commands respect and admiration. He has been very active in all campus affairs. He has been an excellent soda- jerker, and we know he will make good in anything he attempts. TURNER COLE FEEZOR Lexington, North Carolina This hard working fellow will make the grade In following whatever plans he has made. Although he has been with us only a year, Turner has shown us that he has principles and the backbone to stand up to them. He is interested in scientific farming. Bill ' s not all brawn either; you should hear him debate. Yes, sir! He ' s an all-around good fellow. WILLIAM MUNDY FOWLER Charlotte, North Carolina A good musician, with a friendly grin — He ' s already started when others begin. Delphian. Bill attended N. C. State College one year, where he was the accompanist for the Glee Club and also a member of the orchestra. He is a man who has won his place here as one of our best musicians. If he does everything as well as he plays the piano, we know he will succeed in life. LOTTIE GRAY FRAZIER Spray, North Carolina .111 the qualities ol a splendid woman combined with a wonderful intellect. Lottie is one of those students whose exceptional mentality will win her prominence wherever she goes. May she be happy and continue the good work she has so effectively begun. JEANETTE GABLE Iva, South Carolina Earnest, sincere, in work or play; She ' s sure to go far in her own quiet way. Euterpean; Folk-Lore Club; Euterpean Basketball Varsity ' 37. Jeanette attended Erskine College dur- ing her freshman year. She made a good record there and has continued her good work here. Dish hails from the land where birds sing and warm breezes blow, and she radiates this atmosphere. Her hobby is collecting small pictures and what-nots. Have any to add? But anyhow, watch the home-town girl make good! RAY JACKSON HARDING Winston-Salem, North Carolina This mannerly, sott-speaking, friendly boy Is one in whom every one will find joy. Delphian; Agriculture Club; Football. Look the college over and you will hardly find a person who is more generally liked by the student body because of his friendly disposition and winning smile. He is Lucy ' s favorite when choosing the best fellow on the campus. JOE LEE HEFFNER Horse Shoe, North Carolina He ' s amusing, good natured, lumbering, slow; An all-round good fellow is ' Little Joe. ' Cliosophic; Football; Agriculture Club, Secretary ' 37. Joe Lee is one of the jolliest boys in school. Everybody knows him for his size, and everybody likes him for his friendly smile and disposition. We saw his ability as a fighter on Stunt Night. We are hoping to see him do bigger things in life. MARTHA VIRGINIA HENDERSON Hendersonville, North Carolina Having the best ol talents, she deserves the best in lite. Her fingers have that certain talent, and the music they make is too marvelous for words. Vir- ginia ' s horse-shoe pitching is no joke either — she really rings ' em. She shall have music wherever she goes, and courage and a smile, too! JETHRO HOYLE Lawndale, North Carolina This likeable fellow who works so hard Has given and gotten the best from Brevard. Cliosophic. Try everything once is Jethro ' s motto. He has a twinkle in his eyes and a flippant remark on his lips. Cheerfulness is what the world demands — and Hoyle has it. VIRGINIA RANSON HUNTER Greensboro, North Carolina A lovely, charming girl is she — He ' ll always think ol her pleasantly. Mnemosynean; Presbyterian Club; International Relations Club, Treasurer ' 36; Pre-Med Club, Secre- tary ' 36; Photo-Nature Club; Choir. Dear people, this is the Pollyanna of the campus. She plays the Glad Game to the extent that if there ' s nothing better to do, she creates an I Love Me Club. She certainly doesn ' t let studies intefere with her educa- tion, and she wants every one to have a good time. 27
