SENIOR MESSAGE With the close of our high school years comes the awakening of a new decade-the 70 ' s. Our high school years were something we all looked forward to, so, as sophomores we came to Brentwood High with enthusiasm, bursting with proudness and spirit, for at last we have made the big school. As sophomores we went all out with school spirit. It was on November 1 1 , 1967, the day of the Homecoming Parade that we won the judging for the best float. Yet we still had a long way to go before we really belonged to B.H.S. The teachers, the homework, Where is the swimming pool?, and How do you get to A corridor?, made our sophomore year the beginning of something great. Soon we were juniors, walking down the hall looking down on the new sophomores. To prove we juniors were very much a part of B.H.S. we won the judging of the best Homecoming Float again on November 28, 1968. Our Junior Cotillion was a great success, but as all terms must end, so must our junior year. Well, summer has come and gone, and here we are, seniors at last. We have not noticed it ourselves, but our teachers and parents have seen us grow into adults of the new generation. We are wiser now and able to appreciate all that B.H.S. has done for us. Although graduation has a shining look about it, we are not actually happy to leave. We look back on the Prom, the good times we have had, and all the friends we have made; it has been the most memorable year of our lives so far. Years from now we will look back on our high school days as a very happy memory. Those were the days when we were young and carefree, when the world was ours and beckoned to us. And we all appreciate B.H.S. for the help it gave us to answer the call, and to enter the world and become the future nurses, teachers, electricians, and perhaps, best of all, the new mothers and fathers of America. 36
