CORAL IMXIHLTTVA H. BRI BA The CORAL SEA FESTIVAL commemorated the farthest advance of Japanese forces during World War II. In effect, it prevented the Austra- lian continent from being invaded. Predominant in the battle were the American Naval Forces in the area. Since the end of the War, Australians have been celebrating the victory in the Battle of the Coral Sea with many visiting ships of the U.S. Navy. It was Bremertorfs good for- tune to be one of the calling ships on our last cruise, and We made a detour down south on our Way home. We were overwhelmed by the Aust- ralian hospitality as they took us into their homes, showed us the sights, and honored us in ceremonies in Brisbane and Sydney. Not the least of good me- mories for the sailors ofthe Brem -Australia. V . if V QXKJ' fn h ! 4M?'O? 'XQQMLMSSQ' X f N3 A D XTDEY
