will ,xxhlxwj Y We a E J ff? if Christmas in Hong Kong! Hong Kong-the very name brings back memorable customs and international intrigue. Among junks, sampans, water taxis and ferry boats, plus merchant ships and liners, from all over the world criss-crossing our paths, we eased into the harbor of the British Crown Colony for a Christmas week visit. And itis agreed by all that in no iiner place in the Far East, could we have spent Christmas. Hong Kong, long known as the Pearl of the Orient 7', held many attractions in store for us. The Colony, situated at the mouth of the Pearl River is popular among sightseers with its ancient homes, picturesque buildings, quaint souvenir shops and streets jammed with people of all nationalities. Immediately after arriving, we got into the swing of things by renting two walla-wallas to haul us ashore and our purchases back to the ship. When the morning rolled around for departure, our hearts were saddened, our , . lockers laden with oriental treasures and our pockets very empty.
