ll KX! J 5? - Division Commissary's job is to serve the crew adequate and nutritious meals .... but between menu and mess table a lot of behind-the-scene planning and work must go on. , Fruit cake and candy at Christmas dinner in Hong Kong required September ordering in Long Beach. When commissary makes out its shop- ing list it must ask itself a lot of questions no housewife ever worries about: What's to be had at our next port of call? How long can we store fresh pineapple? How much room do we have for flour? Who likes grits .... you-all? Good food calls for pain- staking preparation and enough food calls for gar- gantuan recipies. . . Now take 100 dozen eggs and 60 pounds of butter .... . And the proof :of the pudding is in the eating. THIRD ROW! J. W. Shults, SA, M. R. McGrue, SN, R. E. Haskins, SN, A. R. Braswell, SN, J. F.
