- Q Division Everything from soup to nuts , well almost everything. S-1 has it all. This division handles the procurement, receipt, inspection, stowage and distribu- tion of nearly every item of material used aboard ship. The stores group handles the record keeping, report making and distribution of much of this ma- terial. The clothing and small stores group is always ready to supply us with an inventory of clothing items. Together comprising the S-1 division--they handle the immense job of supplying 1000 men of this ship with everything from Alpha to Zulu.

LIPSCOMB I lt takes some 27,000 different items from toothpaste to tomatoes, trousers, and transformers to keep Bremerton and its crew operating- not to mention a bank with plenty of ready cash!! Supply people are the businessmen of our ship and supply is the department through which our material and financial needs are satisfied. But more than this, supply means SERVICE 365 days every year-as to the command, to the ship, and to the crew- to the end that a maximum contribution is made to our fighting ability and efficiency.
