ln the time a runner makes the hundred yard dash, the projectile from a naval gun travels . q four and one half miles to meet a target ship . . . which has moved one hundred yards or a jet Dlvlslon plane which has sped two miles. The jet may also go up or down, and insuring that the projectile and target come together is more complex than pointing in the general direction and hoping. The job of solving the fire control problem is left to a multitude of instruments, radars, computers, electron tubes, switches, several miles of wire, and assorted machines, whose care, operation and maintenance are left in the hands of the FT. He comprises the bulk of F Division, and lends one of his initials to make its name. - Included, also, are the Ordnance Gunner's Mates. Their responsibilities are the armory, with its large inventory of small arms, the landing force lockerls various pieces of equipment, the stowage, safety, and inventory of all ammunition, the ordnance storerooms for the issuing of special tools and spare parts for the gun mounts and turrets, and the magazine sprinkling system. Gunnery yeomen are, also, part of the division. They handle the countless reports, forms, and correspondence peculiar to the gunnery department. These three rates combined make Foxtrot Division a worthy and important unit of the Bremerton. 1 'THIRD ROW: T J. Winter SN, F. R. Russell, FT3, J. B. zuniga, FTSN: R. V.
