FO BTH T Division The Fourth Division administered by LTJG Bowman, Richey, BMI and petty officers under them is one of the finest and hardest Working deck divisions of the Bre- merton. Their deck spaces topside begin on the port quarterdeck and extend aft to frame 96. Two of their important jobs are to maintain the port Ceremonial Quarterdeck, and the Captain's Gig. Both of these have to be kept at a very high standard of ap- pearance. Other responsibilities of the Fourth are No. 2 Motor Whale Boat and the port accomodation ladder. Our most important job is to man the port 5-inch or secondary battery, which consists of Mounts 52, 54, and 56, which they man during General Quarters, IAA and condition watches. The maintenance of these mounts are the responsibility of Fourth DiVision's Gun Gang. They must keep them in top shape and ready for instantaneous use. I In all they have a great overall responsibility, but they perform their jobs in the greatest traditions of the United States Navy.
