i D Division The Second Division is composed of two groups, the Gun Gang and the Deck Force. Though the titles may be different, their loyalty and efficiency as a group make the men of the Second ready and willing to tackle any situation that arises regardless of the time of day. Through work and leisure we have lived and learned that to be a fighting unit We must perform our duties as a group whether it is fueling at 0400 or strolling through the escapes of such places as Hong Kong and Japan. ' Every man has a job, Whether it be a gun captain, a helmsman, boatsWain's mate of the Watch, or a leadsman. During general quarters We man Turret ll. Our primary responsibility, at all times, is to keep Turret ll opera- tionally ready and the men trained to sustain long periods of firing if the need arises.
